The Moody Cow

Sunday Roast in our village!

If there is one thing that epitomises village life more than any other, it is the institution of Sunday lunch at the village pub.We are very lucky to have a brilliant gastro pub, the Moody Cow, just a stone’s throw away!

You will certainly enjoy Sunday Lunch at our local, The Moody Cow in Upton Bishop. Their food is all made from scratch using only the best, locally sourced ingredients. The area is also known for excellent quality meat and the Moody Cow Sunday lunch uses Herefordshire rare breed longhorn beef, prime loin of pork, and Welsh lamb, all with seasonal veg and homemade sauces and gravy made with homemade stock.

They also provide a fantastic vegetarian alternative, again made using local ingredients, for example a rich three cheese tart made with Shropshire Blue, Monkland, and Little Hereford cheese. They also make a delicious butternut squash and wild mushroom roulade or a nut roast packed with fresh brazil nuts, cashew nuts and herbs, with vegetarian gravy.

If you or anyone in your party has any specific dietary requirements, you will find them very helpful with advice and information on the dishes they are preparing – it’s best to ask when you call to reserve your table.
All their puddings are also homemade, including favourites like sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream, apple crumble and vanilla custard sauce, and creme brulee served with a homemade shortbread biscuit.

They serve Sunday lunch from 12.00pm till 3.00pm and the table is yours for as long as you want it. However, we would recommend reserving a table as it is a very popular time – you could see us there enjoying Sunday lunch ourselves!
